Vinod Kambli experienced a major scare as his health deteriorated, forcing the ex-cricketer to be admitted at the Akruti Hospital in Mumbai. The good news is that the danger has averted as Kambli is responding well to the treatment. In fact, Kambli while speaking to mediaperson also expressed his gratitude towards the doctor and the medical staff at the hospital.
"It is because the doctor here that I am alive... All I would say is that I will do whatever sir (referring to the doctor) asks me to. People will see the inspiration that I'll give them," the 52-year-old can be heard saying in a video shared by PTI on social media. Kambli was admitted in the hospital by a fan, who owns the hospital at Bhiwandi's Kalher area in Thane.
The reason behind Kambli's health deterioration is yet to be ascertained, however, a report in Mint stated clots have formed in the ex-cricketer's brain. Kambli already has complaints of urinary infection.

"We always had a cricketing image of sir (Vinod Kambli) in our mind. So, it inspired us that sir needs us and so, the entire team decide to do something for sir. He keeps telling us about his good memories," a doctor at the Akruti Hospital said.
Meanwhile, one of Kambli's close friends Marcus Couto sharing details on Kambli's health confirmed that the cricketer is doing better and has insisted the hospital to let him stay admitted for a month. "Kambli is doing fine now. He is suffering from a urinary infection and was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. I met him at the hospital today," Couto told the Times of India.
"I told them to treat him at the hospital for a month since he has many health issues. Since someone is ready to spend money on his treatment, why not?" Couto added.
Kambli has represented India in 17 Tests and 104 ODIs between 1993-2000. He recently shared the stage with childhod friend Sachin Tendulkar while attending the inauguration of coach Ramakant Achrekar's memorial at the Shivaji Park. The video had immediately raised concerns about Kambli's health as he appeared feeble and was struggling to speak.
