Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Sourav Ganguly: Out of India's 7 ICC titles, which captain has won what?

This was India's fourth straight ICC final in less than two years. When Rohit led his team to the final of all four major ICC competitions, he became the first captain in international cricket history to do so.

In the history of the eight-team competition, India also became the first nation to win the Champions Trophy for a record-tying third time. India surpassed Australia, who had two titles, by adding trophies in 2002 and 2013.

With their third victory in this eight-team competition, India added a seventh ICC trophy to their collection.

Having advanced to the knockout stages on numerous occasions, including the 2003 ODI World Cup, the 2017 Champions Trophy, the 2023 ODI World Cup, and two appearances in the World Test Championship finals in the 2019–21 and 2021–23 cycles, India has established itself as one of the top teams in cricket.

Having won the ODI World Cup six times (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015, and 2023), the T20 World Cup once in 2021, the Champions Trophy twice in 2006 and 2009, and the WTC once in the 2021–2023 cycle, Australia is the most successful team overall across all formats.
