The second Test between India and Australia, which is a Day-Night affair at Adelaide Oval, saw Mitchell Starc give hosts a perfect start. Starc got rid of previous match centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal for a golden duck, which was in the first ball of the match. By doing this Starc also redeemed himself as he was involved in a bit of banter against the youngster in the previous match at Perth, which India won by 295 runs. In the match played at Perth, India's newcomer Harshit Rana tried troubling Starc, his ex-Kolkata Knight Riders colleague, with a barrage of short deliveries. Then Starc had remarked Rana that he can bowl quicker than him and has a good memory.

However, Yashasvi, who is usually high on confidence, decided to take the banter ahead and while he was batting flawlessly in the second innings he tried to poke Starc by saying "you're too slow". Starc had then just laughed at the Indian youngster.

However, moving forward to the second Test Starc shut Yashasvi with an in-swinging delivery, which knocked Yashasvi's pad and appeared like a plumb. The umpire didn't hesitate from raising his finger and after a brief chat with KL Rahul, his opening partner, the batter decided to not take a review. Ball tracker showed that it was pitching in line and was knocking the stumps so it wouldn't have helped India if they had taken a review.
