Hardik Pandya showed no mercy against Tamil Nadu as he smashed 4 sixes and a four in a single over, helping Baroda secure a thrilling 3-wicket on Thursday in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy group match. During the 17th over, Pandya smashed 30 runs off Gurjanpreet Singh, the bowler who was recently bought by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

Pandya got out on 69 off 30 with his team still needing 9 runs to win. Both Raj Limbani and Atit Sheth scored those runs to guide their side over the line in the end.

The scores: Tamil Nadu 221/6 in 20 overs (N. Jagadeesan 57, Vijay Shankar 42 n.o., M. Shahrukh Khan 39, Lukman Meriwala 3/41) lost to Baroda 222/7 in 20 overs (Hardik Pandya 69, Bhanu Pania 42, Varun Chakravarthy 3/43); Toss: Baroda, Points: Tamil Nadu 0 (8), Baroda 4 (12).

Coming to the other game of the night, Shreyas Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane also impressed with match-winning fifties for Mumbai in their clash against Maharashtra in the Group C fixture of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Wednesday.
