Riyan Parag was upset with the third umpire's call during Wednesday's IPL 2025 match against the Gujarat Titans. The Rajasthan Royals appeared to be in excellent form prior to his dismissal for being caught behind, but he didn't seem pleased with the call and even spoke with the umpire before heading off the field.
In order to end the dangerous stand between Sanju Samson and Parag, the Gujarat Titans introduced Kulwant Khejroliya into the attack in the first over following powerplay. The left-arm pacer got the job done as the umpire declared Parag out caught behind on the fourth ball. But Parag immediately took the DRS since he was sure he had not edged the ball and he said the ball hit the ground with a loud noise.

The third umpire's refusal to alter the ruling left Parag stunned, and he even got into a heated argument with the on-field umpire after the review revealed a spike as the ball passed the bat. Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Siraj spoke with Parag and gave him a pat on the back as he got back to the pavilion.
Parag's stay in the middle and three incredible sixes mesmerized the crowd, but following his departure, the tide turned in the hosts' favor.
After losing Nitish Rana (1) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (6) during the powerplay while chasing a 218-run mark, Samson and Parag put the innings back on track with a 48-run partnership. But they continued to lose wickets at regular intervals after that. For the Titans, Samson's dismissal for 41 nearly sealed the deal. The wicketkeeper batsman was removed by Prasidh Krishna after hitting two sixes and four fours.
RR were bowled out for 159 despite Shimron Hetmyer's fiery 52-run knock. With three wickets in his kitty, Krishna was the Titans' best bowler. Sai Sudharsan had earlier helped the Gujarat Titans record 217 for 6 with a brisk 82, which proved to be too much for the Royals.

Shahrukh Khan and Jos Buttler both scored 36 runs when GT was asked to bat, while Sudharsan's 53-ball innings was dotted with eight fours and three sixes. Maheesh Theekshana and Tushar Deshpande both claimed two wickets for RR, while Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma claimed one each.
