Lowest team totals in IPL playoffs: Punjab Kings registered an unwanted record in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2025 season against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday (May 29). After being asked to bat first, PBKS crumbled with the bat, managing only a meagre total of 101 in the first innings. The RCB bowling attack, led by Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Suyash Sharma, ruthlessly tore through the batting lineup, leaving Punjab reeling.
Punjab Kings’ ultra-aggressive approach costed them and under pressure their batters dismantled like anything. In conditions where the ball was not coming easily on the bat, Punjab's all-out approach got them in serious trouble as their innings only lasted 14.1 overs after being asked to bat first.

RCB began their chase with a brisk start, but Kyle Jamieson struck early to remove Virat Kohli for a run-a-ball 12. Phil Salt, alongside impact substitute Mayank Agarwal, kept the momentum going, guiding RCB to 61/1 at the end of the powerplay. The pair put on a 54-run stand for the second wicket before PBKS’s own impact substitute dismissed Agarwal, who was caught by Shreyas Iyer for 19 off 13 balls. Salt accelerated further, reaching a rapid 23-ball fifty in the following over, while Rajat Patidar finished the match in style with a six.
