The IPL 2025 encounter between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants on Monday saw MS Dhoni astonish everyone with a spectacular run-out to dismiss Abdul Samad. With an underhand throw, Dhoni was able to hit the stumps at the non-striker's end from behind the stumps as the batter tried to steal a quick single.
Dhoni was hailed by the pundits but former wicket-keeper batsman Robin Uthappa, who has shared the dressing room with MS previously, believed that his ability to strike the stumps from that distance was a "tukka" (fluke).
"I am someone who has worn gloves, I know this was a 'tukka'," Uthappa said on Star Sports.

Dhoni scales new milestone
During the match, Dhoni became the first player in IPL history to reach 200 fielding dismissals, adding another feather to his cap. Apart from the unbelievable run-out, the seasoned wicketkeeper was involved in a stumping and a caught-behind.
The stumping came in the 14th over as Ayush Badoni charged down the track to take on Ravindra Jadeja in an attempt to enhance the run flow in the middle overs. Jadeja using all his experience managed to beat Badoni with his speed and line and Dhoni did the rest.
As LSG finished their innings at 166/7, Dhoni broke the 200-dismissal record in his 271st IPL game by successfully taking his counterpart Rishabh Pant's catch in the final over.
Out of the total 201 dismissals - 155 are catches, and 46 are stumpings.
Dinesh Karthik, a former wicketkeeper with 182 dismissals, is in second place. With 126 dismissals, legendary Royal Challengers Bengaluru player AB de Villiers is ranked third.
Finishing touch by Dhoni
Chennai began the 167-chase on a strong note as openers Shaik Rasheed and Rachin Ravindra added 52 for the opening stand in 4.5 overs. However, the team soon found itself in a spot of bother after a collapse in the middle overs, which saw them get reduced to 111/5 in 15 overs.
Dhoni along with Shivam Dube then dug deep and helped CSK wrap the run-chase with three balls to spare. Dhoni blasted 26* off 11 balls, which featured four boundaries and a maximum. Dube returned unbeaten on 43 off 37, a rather uncharacteristic knock.
