Anshul Kamboj on Friday became the only third bowler to scalp all ten wickets in an innings in the history of Ranji Trophy, India's premier domestic red-ball tournament. The 23-year-old, who represents Haryana achieved the feat in the fifth-round fixture against Kerala at Ch Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium, Rohtak. Kamboj returned with figures reading 10/49 in 30.1 overs, which helped his side fold Kerala for 291 in their first innings on Day 3.
Premangshu Chatterjee of Bengal (10/20) and Pradeep Sunderam (10/78) of Rajasthan are the two bowlers to achieve the feat. Chatterjee had achieved the feat back in Janurary 1957 against Assam in Jorhat, while Sunderam did it against Vidarbha in Jodhpur in November 1985. Apart from the duo, Subhash Gupte (1954-55), Anil Kumble (1999), and Debasis Mohanty 2000-01) have achieved the rare feat in first-class cricket.

Who is Anshul Kamboj?
Meanwhile, this was Kamboj’s first-ever ten-wicket haul in first class cricket. He has scalped 57 wickets from 19 matches at an average of 24.14 so far. Kamboj was born in Karna, Haryana on December 6, 2000 and is a bowling all-rounder. He has 358 runs under his name in first-class career.
Kamboj also has 97 wickets across List A, first-class, and T20 cricket. He is currently the second-highest wicket-taker for Haryana with 17 wickets from three matches in the ongoing season.
Kamboj was also part of India A in the recently-concluded Emerging Asia Cup, where India managed to reach the semifinals. Kamboj accounted for four scalps in the tournament, which includes a Player of the Match performance against Pakistan, in which he scalped 3/33.
Kamboj has been enjoying incredible form this year and had also finished as the leading wicket-taker in the Duleep Trophy 2024-25 representing India C. The pacer had registered 16 scalps from five innings, which includes 8/69 vs India B.
Kamboj made his IPL debut earlier this year for Mumbai Indians and made three appearances. He scalped two wickets from three matches.
Kamboj also played a key role in Haryana’s Vijay Hazare Trophy triumph in the 2023-24 season, where he accounted for 17 wickets from 10 matches.
