In space, four private astronauts have accomplished a unique achievement. They have firsthand knowledge of both the North and South Poles. They were launched on SpaceX's Fram2 mission and are currently on a historic orbit above the planet.
One of the astronauts, Chun Wang, uploaded a captivating video to the net. In the video, Antarctica is shown to be an unbroken, gigantic white sheet. Wang said, "Hello, Antarctica. "There is no sign of human activity; it is just pure white." The video was recorded from the glass view window of SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft, Dragon's Cupola.
Social media reacts to the stunning vista
Wang's clip stunned social media users. "This is incredible," one of them said, "Are you taking pictures with lots of resolution?"
"Very incredible!" said another, and "Great view from above!" another wrote. Many were astonished at the unspoiled beauty of Antarctica from space.
Meet the Fram2 astronauts.
The initial human flight around the Earth from pole to pole was the Fram2 mission. The mission is commanded by Chun Wang, a Maltese businessman. Eric Phillips of Australia, Jannicke Mikkelsen of Norway, and Rabea Rogge of Germany accompany him.
Mikkelsen is a movie director, and Wang is a bitcoin entrepreneur. Phillips is an adventurer, and Rogge is a scientist and engineer. He has led ski expeditions to the poles before. As far as space flight is concerned, their trip is a new milestone.
