Glance up this evening and you'll see a practically full Moon, shining softly overhead. Its face is gradually becoming brighter, as part of an unchanging, timeless cadence.

According to NASA's Nightly Moon Observation, the Moon is in the Waxing Gibbous stage. About 89% of its surface will appear illuminated on Monday, July 7, as it approaches the next full phase. This is the 12th day of the lunar cycle, with just a few nights to go before it becomes completely full.
