What is Banada Ashtami?

Shakambhari Navratri begins on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Paush, which is known as Banada Ashtami or Banadashtami. Unlike most Navratris, which commence on Shukla Pratipada, Shakambhari Navratri uniquely starts on Ashtami and concludes on Purnima. This distinct feature makes it shorter, lasting eight days, though in certain years, it may span seven or nine days due to variations in the lunar calendar.
