Story of Veeravati and Her Seven Brothers

Long ago, in the ancient city of Indraprasthapur, lived a pious Brahmin named Vedsharma and his wife Leelavati. They had seven sons and one loving daughter named Veeravati. Being the only sister, Veeravati was deeply adored and pampered by her family.

After her marriage to a noble Brahmin boy, Veeravati once returned to her parents’ home to observe her first Karwa Chauth vrat. Determined to fast for her husband’s long life, she refrained from eating or drinking. However, by evening, she became weak and fainted due to hunger.
