In a significant move to accommodate the increasing number of devotees, the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has adjusted its darshan timings. According to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the temple will now open daily at 6 am instead of the previous 7 am. The revised schedule aims to better manage the growing influx of visitors while enhancing their spiritual experience.
Under the new timings, the temple will remain open for darshan from 6 am to 10 pm, extending the morning hours by 90 minutes and the evening hours by an additional 30 minutes. This change reflects the temple's commitment to providing uninterrupted access to devotees throughout the day.
Updated Aarti Schedule
The temple's ritual timings have also been updated. The Mangala Aarti will begin at 4 am, after which the temple doors will be temporarily closed. The temple will reopen for public darshan at 6 am following the Shringar Aarti, marking the official start of daily rituals for devotees.
At noon, the Rajbhog Aarti will be performed, allowing devotees to witness darshan during the prasad offerings. In the evening, the Sandhya Aarti will commence at 7 pm, during which the temple doors will briefly close for 15 minutes before reopening. The day will conclude with the Shayan Aarti at 10 pm, marking the temple’s closure for the night.
Addressing Growing Devotee Numbers
Ayodhya has been witnessing a surge in visitors, with over one crore devotees flocking to the holy city between January 26 and Basant Panchami (February 3), as per the Uttar Pradesh government. The Ram Mandir, which attracts approximately 3 lakh devotees daily, remains the spiritual heart of Ayodhya.
The trust has made elaborate arrangements to ensure seamless darshan experiences for devotees. Additionally, the extended darshan hours will provide more opportunities for visitors to connect spiritually during their temple visit.
Ayodhya’s Spiritual Significance
This development coincides with Ayodhya’s preparations for the first anniversary of the Ram Mandir’s Pran Pratishtha and the Maha Kumbh being held in Prayagraj. These events have drawn an influx of pilgrims, further amplifying the city's spiritual importance.
Alongside the Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi, another revered temple in Ayodhya, continues to welcome a steady stream of devotees, reaffirming the city's deep-rooted cultural and spiritual heritage.
