Donald Trump, hours after taking oath as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, signed a slew of executive orders aimed at immigration, birthright citizenship, withdrawing from Paris treaty, ending work from home culture and more.
Executive orders are signed statements about how the president wants the federal government to be managed. They can be instructions to federal agencies or requests for reports. New presidents can - and in fact, often do - issue orders to cancel the orders of their predecessors.

Here's a list of executive orders signed by Trump:
- The US President signed several executive orders related to immigration, including declaring a “national emergency” along the southern border with Mexico, designating criminal cartels as terrorist organisations, and targeting automatic birthright citizenship for US.-born children of immigrants in the country illegally
- Trump reinstated the "Remain in Mexico" policy, ending a program that allowed asylum seekers into America while their cases were considered.
- Trump ordered agencies not to recognize babies as citizens of USA if their mothers were "unlawfully present" at the time of birth and their father was not a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
- 'Drill baby, Drill': Trump declared a "national energy emergency," ordering expedited, deregulated drilling.
- Trump also paused offshore wind leasing in federal waters.
- He signed an order withdrawing US, a top carbon polluting nation, from the Paris Climate Agreement. He had pulled out of the pact during his first term, but Biden rejoined the deal during his administration.
- Trump directed the Energy secretary to restart application reviews for liquefied natural gas export projects, which were paused by Biden.
- Trump said that "it is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female" on official documents.
- Trump signed orders the dismantling of government diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives within 60 days.
- The US to exit the World Health Organization (WHO). Trump said the global health agency had mishandled the Covid-19 pandemic and other international health crises.
- Trump temporarily halted a ban on TikTok in the US, granting the company and its Chinese parent ByteDance Ltd. 75-day extra time to reach a deal for the popular app that would resolve long-standing US national security concerns.
- Trump pardoned January 6 defendants charged with participating in the Capitol riot and commuted the sentences of 14 others.
- Trump revoked a 2021 executive order signed by Biden that sought to ensure half of all new vehicles sold in the United States by 2030 were electric.
- Trump signed an executive action to create an advisory group called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) aimed at carrying out dramatic cuts to the US government, attracting immediate lawsuits challenging its operations. The department is run by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
- US President Trump signed order to rename Denali to Mount McKinley and the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
