A recent video of women clamouring to enter a moving Mumbai local train has gone viral and triggered a debate on safety. For most familiar with the city's local train scenario or for those who use the train service for their commute, getting on and off moving trains is a common sight and experience but the video shone a spotlight on how accepted the dangerous norm is for Mumbaikars.

Shared by X user Akshay Karatia, the clip has garnered more than 2 million views and has the song ‘Yeh Hai Bombay Meri Jaan’ playing in the background.

Reacting to the video, one section of users from Mumbai said that they have no choice but to rush into trains so that they don't have to stand and jostle in the crowd for the long journey back home.

"All seats on any train are occupied by the time it stops at the station. After a long day at the office, it's difficult to commute for 2.5 hours standing on a crowded train. Don't forget 75 percent of these women go from work to home to work again," Golden Sunrise (@Divinelove11550) commented.

Another user Priyaa Yadav (@PriyaaReturnz) said, "Many women use this travel time to cut vegetables in the train, to save time. It's easy to pass judgements, you need to experience it to emphasize with these women. Life is not easy especially for the middle class in Mumbai.
