Today, when travelling, your smartphone automatically morphs into an all-inclusive travel agent. Here are ten apps you absolutely must download before setting off for your dream vacation.

TripAdvisorTripAdvisor is one of the oldest, most popular travel apps on the market. It' a crowdsourced fountain of information about hotels, restaurants and attractions and provides users with hundreds of photos and reviews of each point of interest.Google Trips Google recently launched Google Trips which helps every traveller store all the information he needs in one virtual location. The app allows you to create specified trip destinations and will then (with your permission) download information about these destinations including popular attractions, places to eat and shopping centres, which you can access offline. The app will also sync with your Google Mail account to save information about reservations and bookings. Google Maps Just beside you, Google Trips app should sit Google Maps. Use Maps to navigate through any unfamiliar city or town. When connected to the internet, it’ll use your location to show you the fastest route to your desired destination and indicate the amount of traffic on the route. You can also save the maps of specific places offline to help you pinpoint restaurants, hotels and petrol pumps on your route.XE Currency If you're moving from country to country, use XE Currency for currency conversions. The app updates exchange rates every 60 seconds, ensuring that you always have the most recent rate on hand. If you think you'll have limited access to the internet, you can store the rates and calculate conversions offline as well. ExpensifyExpensify is a popular tool to track expenses. When travelling, it's particularly handy as it allows you to record expenses in a variety of ways, from entering them manually to importing expenditure information from your credit card. It also lets you scan receipts, following which it will read and add the expense to your account. SplitwiseSplitwise will help you keep track of expenditures when travelling with friends. If one pays for petrol while another pays for food and a third for drinks, Splitwise will calculate the exact amount of money owed to each person. AirbnbOver the past few months, Airbnb has become wildly popular; it connects travellers with locals who are offering a plethora of places to stay in different destinations, from apartments to houses to even castles. It works offline, so you don't need to worry about internet access and will also translate photos of text into whatever language you pick which is super helpful when you’re trying to decipher signs in a foreign country.
