If one were to trace back to the history of civilisation, one of the first urges of mankind has been to move from one place to another. From bullock carts to horses, men have used animals for transport long before finally realising need for an independent mode of transport that would be easy to maintain yet fast to use.

It is perhaps this urge that went to create the first bicycle ever; a conjoined set of wheels which would move in tandem while helping the rider cover distance. Experiments with these set of wheels have happened over decades and took final shape as we see it today some time in early nineteenth century, in Europe. It is from them that the bicycle as we know them today has taken shape as a simple, fuel free mode of transport.
