This episode explores the life and livelihood of Ajay Chaturvedi, a budding entrepreneur. A Wharton Graduate, he quit his job with Citi Bank and came back to India to launch HarVa, a BPO that focuses on harnessing human capital in rural India. What started as an attempt to educate farmers on the latest techniques of farming, also boasts of setting up the first ever women-only BPO in the nation. Trained in basic computer skill these women are equipped to handle data entry, documents scanning and even web research and they earn anywhere between Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000 a month. Today, his BPO has operations spread over four states and 30 villages, and he is hoping to employ 5000 women by 2014.
