Highways regulator, NHAI, and the road ministry are at loggerheads for the rescheduling of premiums of road projects, reports Pragya Bhardwaj. This move was originally proposed 8-9 months back and had got a thumps up across the industry- from road developers, from NHAI, and all other stakeholders. Now the NHAI feels this one time back ending of premiums is essential to revive the dismal state as far as the road projects are concerned. NHAI had identified close to 40 projects for this back ending of premiums, but the roads ministry is trying to push only around 23 projects out of the 40, wherein the appointed date had not been granted yet.
