A LinkedIn post inviting candidates to apply for job openings at Nestle India has gone viral, claiming the company is hiring for multiple positions with salaries ranging between Rs 5 and Rs 10 lakh per annum. However, Nestle India’s Chairman and Managing Director, Suresh Narayanan, has strongly refuted the claims, warning job seekers against falling for fraudulent job listings.
Narayanan took to LinkedIn to personally debunk the post, calling it a “complete fake” and urging young professionals not to engage with such misleading advertisements.
The post in question was shared by a LinkedIn user named Pooja Dayal, who identifies herself as a recruitment specialist. It stated, "Hi All, We are hiring for multiple positions in Nestle. Virtual interview on 17th to 18th March 2025 | Timing: 04:00 PM.” She also listed various job roles, claiming they were open for recruitment at Nestle.
Reposting the advert, Narayanan issued a strong rebuttal: "This advert for Nestle India jobs is a complete fake, totally untrue, and grossly misleading. I appeal to all young and aspiring talent NOT to respond to this or any advert of this kind that might pop up!"
He further emphasised his personal concern for job seekers, stating, "As the CMD of Nestle India, I don’t want any youngster from anywhere to be duped by these lofty offers! Hence, please do not respond. The reason I am personally intervening is my concern for you.”
Narayanan’s clarification sparked discussions online, with several users expressing concerns about fraudulent hiring scams.
One user commented, "Suresh Narayanan, I have seen several posts where people farm engagement in the name of hiring. They simply post pictures of girls in front of office buildings to lure innocent candidates. The result? They collect email IDs and phone numbers for other purposes, even selling our data to other firms for money. They can’t fool me. I know their game.”
Another individual appreciated the clarification, stating, "Appreciate the upfront warning. I have seen similar fake job posts for multiple companies. I hope young job seekers take note and remain cautious.”
A third user called for legal action, writing, "Sir, I hope you take strong legal steps against such fraudulent posts."
A fourth added, "Thank you for looking out for the next generation. Being in your position, not many leaders take this kind of effort for freshers. One of our favourite brands, Nestlé, is in the right hands."
Despite Narayanan’s warning, the same LinkedIn account, Pooja Dayal, posted another job listing shortly after his intervention, again falsely claiming that Nestle was hiring for multiple positions. A review of the account’s activity showed a pattern of similar job posts for various reputed companies across India.
Meanwhile, the official LinkedIn account of Nestle India also posted an advisory highlighting that the company only posts through official channels.
"I hope this clearly and unambiguously clarifies our position on the unfortunate 'fake recruitment ads'. My appeal to all aspiring youngsters who aspire to work at Nestle India — please respond to only genuine ads which as the guidelines below indicates contains essential information you must look for," Narayanan wrote while posting the advisory.
