Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu's son, Karan Sidhu, just tied the knot with Inayat Randhawa in Patiala months after they announced their engagement. The former India cricketer, renowned for his wit on and off the field, unveiled the joyous occasion through a series of pictures on his social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter.
Decked in a light pink sherwani, Karan stood side by side with his bride, who donned a pink lehenga for the occasion. One picture showed with Navjot Singh Sidhu, the former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president, and his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu sharing the joyous occasion alongside their son and daughter-in-law.
"Cup of Joy! Son's Wedding Day," exclaimed the 60-year-old leader in his tweet accompanying the pictures. The outpouring of congratulations from well-wishers flooded social media.
This grand event follows Sidhu’s introduction of his would-be daughter-in-law to his Twitter family of a million followers earlier in June. Sidhu had shared glimpses of a family trip that coincided with the auspicious occasion of Durga Ashtami.
The pictures featured Sidhu, accompanied by his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu, who was recently declared cancer-free, daughter Rabia Sidhu, son Karan, and the newest addition to the family, Inayat Randhawa, who had exchanged promise bands with Karan.
The festive air surrounding the wedding is particularly poignant considering Sidhu's release from jail earlier this year after serving a 10-month term related to a road-rage incident dating back 34 years, which resulted in the death of Gurnam Singh.
