This year, the Narendra Modi Stadium played a pivotal role in global sports history by hosting the cricket ODI World Cup finals.

Google's top trending global searches of 2023 on Google Maps have unveiled the worldwide curiosity surrounding Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India. The stadium not only emerged at the sixth spot in the global searches for stadia but also claimed the top spot in India, with significant interest stemming from regions such as Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Himachal Pradesh.

Narendra Modi Stadium is at the same spot where the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium was from 1982 to 2015, and stands tall as one of India's architectural marvels.

The stadium underwent a major transformation in 2015 and was renamed in 2020 to honour Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Boasting a colossal seating capacity of 1,32,000 spectators, it is the largest cricket stadium in the world.

The stadium was designed by Australia's design firm Populous and built by Larsen and Toubro. It took 5 years to build and an estimated cost of Rs 800 crore.
