In her tweet, Vita pointed out the exorbitant prices for 1 BHK apartments in prime locations of Mumbai, which can range from Rs 50,000 to 70,000 per month. She advised fellow users to reconsider their living arrangements and stay with their families instead of moving out for the sake of independence.
"One can get 1 BHK for Rs 50,000-70,000 in Mumbai. Be on good terms with your mom and dad, no need to rush out of your house to be independent," she wrote.
The tweet quickly went viral, triggering a lively debate. Many users shared their own experiences and struggles with the high cost of living in Mumbai, while others offered suggestions for more affordable localities.
One user commented, "True, inflation is outpacing salaries at a very fast speed. Getting a house, good healthcare, and quality education without a big burden of loans seems like an impossible dream to many."
