Anyone who has lived in Bengaluru or any other part of Karnataka would be accustomed to living with frequent power cuts, either during the day or the night.
Frustrated by the frequent electricity disruptions, farmers in Karnataka's Ronihala village in Vijayapura district decided to bring up the issue with authorities and brought a crocodile to the local sub station on Thursday, an India Today report said.
In a video released on X (formerly Twitter), a couple of men could be seen pulling a rope from a mini truck and as the camera moves to the back of the vehicle, the reptile could be seen tied to the rope and placed on the ground. Later, the farmers demanded for uninterrupted electricity during the day since their crops were withering.
The video, which has gone viral, saw many comments from users. Many were left in splits over what they had just seen in the video while one user explained why the farmers had taken such a step.
"For clarity idea behind bringing crocodile by farmers was that farmers want to highlight that during night when they have no electricity, crocodiles come to their field. So they want electricity department face reality. So they took crocodile to office," the user wrote.
"Oh wow, that's a whole new level of demanding electricity!" another user wrote.
The reptile was later rescued by forest authorities and released into a nearby river.
