After heavy rains lashed Delhi and its adjoining areas, residents of the ‘Millenium City’ took to social media to share visuals of a flooded Gurugram or as they called it, “Jalgram”. Amid videos of people wading through waist-deep water and motorists struggling through flooded streets was one viral video of a man who ventured out in a tractor to buy alcohol.

Several other users also took to social media to question the administration on its action since the city floods after every spell of rain.

"Recently, I visited Gurgaon and stayed there for 5-6 days. During my stay, I could easily understand why it is called 'The Failed City'. Whenever it rains, 'GUR' gets washed away by the rains and whatever is left behind is just 'GAON'," wrote Shivam (@VoiceOfSS).

"In rainy season, Delhi NCR (Gurgaon+ Delhi) area is the worst area to live. Poorest infra, poorest roads, poorest basic and civic sense. At least small towns have only one or two areas where water logging issues erupts. Gurgaon is completely drowning in rains," commented Abey Kuruwila (@kuruwila). Another X user, Bijay Rungta (@rungss), added, "High time the authorities took cognisance of the real issue and work towards a sustainable solution. A little rain and the whole Millinium City looks like a joke."
