DJ Khaled has ignited a storm of backlash for having two security guards carry him across sand to prevent any harm to his coveted Nike Air Jordan sneakers. The incident, captured in a video posted on his Instagram while promoting his upcoming album, has not only left fans disappointed but has also raised questions about Khaled's priorities and treatment of those around him.
The 48-year-old producer, famous for hits like "All I Do Is Win" and "I'm The One," showed a blatant disregard for his security personnel as he prioritized the pristine condition of his J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 "Rio" sneakers over their dignity. In the video, Khaled, seemingly fixated on his footwear, summoned his guards to lift him off the ground, stating, "I don't want to get my Jordans dirty. Can I get everybody to help me?"
Khaled was transported, on his guards' shoulders, from his luxury vehicle to a pick-up truck, which then carried him to the beach-side stage. Despite expressing gratitude to the guards, comments flooded his social media criticizing the producer for his "disrespectful" behaviour.
Followers called out the absurdity of the situation, questioning Khaled's priorities and suggesting alternative ways to preserve his shoes.
The reaction on social media was swift, with users expressing disbelief at Khaled's actions. One user commented, "That's the stupidest thing I have seen! Get off your f—king high horse." Another user humorously remarked, "Lifting 400 pounds wasn't in the resume," highlighting the absurdity of the guards' role in the incident.
This incident is not the first time DJ Khaled has faced public scrutiny. In 2018, he stirred controversy by declaring he would never perform oral sex on a woman, asserting that it was beneath him. His comments were met with criticism from fans and celebrities alike, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Evan Rachel Wood expressing their disapproval.
