Ambani bros to meet today for father's birth anniversary

In 2010 - the Ambani brothers publicly buried the hatchet and ended their bitter dispute. And the entire Ambani clan is now ending 2011 with a very public celebration of the late Dhirubhai Ambani's 80th birth anniversary at Chorwad, Gujarat.

The first family of Indian business - including brothers Mukesh and Anil - will be present at ceremonies tomorrow day and tomorrow- including one to dedicate a memorial in Dhirubhai's name.
Since the entire clan will come together again - perhaps only the second time in the recent past - there is some speculation about whether this occasion could also be the one to make a larger business announcement. The market has been expecting some integration and resource sharing in areas like telecom between the two groups, but that will have to wait for a formal statement, if any.
The two brothers had entered into a family settlement in 2005 with the help of mother Kokilaben Ambani. While Mukesh retained Reliance Industries (energy business), Anil took control of Reliance Communications(telecommunications), Reliance Infra (infrastructure), Reliance Capital (financial services) and Reliance Power (power verticals).
In 2010, the two scrapped a non-compete agreement signed in 2006 as part of the family settlement. This was seen as the first step towards reconciliation between the estranged brothers.
The Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial is at the same place where the industrialist spent his childhood. A rented section of the bungalow then called 'Mangarolwalo Delo' was the place where he lived.
Dhirubhai had purchased the bungalow in 2002 which is now renamed as 'Dhirubhaino Delo'. Kokilaben, in an attempt to keep her husband's memories alive has founded the memorial.
The monument has three sections a pictorial gallery, the old residence of Dhirubhai and an auditorium.
Guru Rameshbhai Oza will formally inaugurate the memorial in the presence of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani, her two sons and daughters Dipti Salgaonkar and Neena Kothari, among others, Nathwani said.
