'Bigg Boss OTT' winner Elvish Yadav was seen attacking a YouTuber in a video that is being widely circulated online. Elvish Yadav and Sagar Thakur first got into a verbal spat when Thakur commented on the former’s meeting with comedian and rapper Munawar Faruqui. It soon led to a physical fight where Thakur, who goes by the internet moniker Maxtern, was outnumbered and attacked.
Footage of the attack shows Elvish Yadav walking up to Maxtern and punching him repeatedly. Yadav was accompanied by a group of men, some of whom were seen trying to hold him back.
A case has been registered against Yadav for assault and threatening to kill. The case was registered at Gurugram Sector 53 Police Station.
Maxtern’s statement
After the attack, Thakur shared a video addressing the incident and presenting his side of the story.
Thakur said he and Yadav have known each other since 2021. “In the last few months, Elvish fan pages have been spreading hate and propaganda which made me distressed,” he said.
Thakur said Yadav asked to meet him on Friday and he accepted thinking it to be a discussion. Yadav also sent him a location where they could meet. Wary of meeting him like this, the Delhi-based YouTuber asked Yadav to meet a public place. The two appeared to meet at a garment shop where Yadav was filmed attacking Thakur.
In his video, Maxtern (aka Thakur) said he wanted to talk and discuss their disagreement but Yadav started attacking him immediately. Moreover, he was joined by aides who outnumbered Thakur easily and joined Yadav in attacking him.
Thakur also claimed that Yadav "tried to break his spine" and "threatened to kill him". The incident happened around 12.30 am on Friday, he added.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against Yadav and others under sections 147 (riots), 149 (unlawful assembly), 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Sector 53 Police Station on Friday evening, police said.
However, Thakur in his video said that attempt to murder charges were not included in the FIR. “When I went to the police station to file an FIR, the SHO lodged it under IPC 147, 149, 323, and 506. Unfortunately, these are bailable sections, and despite clear evidence of an attempt to murder, no non-bailable charges were included,” he said.
