A Bengaluru man was arrested after he was caught on camera riding a bike with a woman sitting on his lap, an NDTV report said.
The incident took place on Friday on the Bengaluru International Airport road and in a video shared by Bengaluru Traffic Police on X (formerly Twitter), the woman could be seen sitting on the biker's lap with her hands around his neck. Additionally, both the man and the woman were not wearing helmets.
The city traffic police shared the video and also informed that the man had been detained for his involvement in the incident.
'Hey thrill-seekers, the road isn't a stage for stunts! Keep it safe for everyone, including yourselves. Let's ride responsibly,'' the city traffic police wrote in the video caption.
The video saw several replies from users, some of whom praised the police for taking action against the bike rider while others questioned why only the man had been charged for his role in the incident.
"Superb! What a way to convey the message. You guys just killed it. Kudos to your team who edited this video," one user wrote.
"Why not that girl, why can't she be arrested.? Arrest her too," another user wrote.
This is not the first instance of a man getting arrested for performing a bike stunt. In November last year, a man was detained for performing a bike stunt with firecrackers attached to the front of his two-wheeler.
