The advent and growth of ChatGPT has helped several industries perform repetitive tasks more easily and save time for other critical chores. Now it seems like the technology is spreading its wings and making a bigger impact in the outside world as was evident recently when Bengaluru folk music band Swarathma sang a song that was generated by ChatGPT.
In a X (formerly Twitter) post, a journalist shared a video of the band performing in an artificial intelligence conference in Bengaluru which prompted a response from the band, asking for a longer video.
Later, the band revealed how the song was generated and added that they had fun singing the song on stage.
While the use of ChatGPT to generate a song may be a new phenomenon in the Indian music industry, the integration of the tool has been on the rise in the overseas market.
A Bloomberg story in April revealed how music lovers had now started to listen to music made by AI machines and how that could have an adverse effect on newer composers, in future.
