Mahindra Group Chairperson Anand Mahindra has lauded the appointment of Shailesh Jejurikar as CEO of Procter & Gamble Co., calling it a milestone that underscores the growing influence of Indian-American leaders in global consumer markets.

In a post on X, Mahindra described P&G as a “brand-building powerhouse” and praised Jejurikar’s rise as evidence that Indian-origin executives are shaping not just technology but also the “hearts and minds of US consumers.”

The announcement is also of personal significance to Mahindra, as Jejurikar is the younger brother of Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director and CEO of Mahindra’s Auto & Farm Sector. “So our pride is in our ‘extended family!’” Mahindra wrote, adding, “Congratulations Shailesh… Keep Rising!”

Jejurikar, 58, will take over as CEO on January 1, succeeding Jon Moeller, who will become executive chairman. A P&G veteran since 1989, Jejurikar steps into the role amid challenging market conditions, including sluggish sales, tariff pressures, and shifting consumer demand.

The leadership transition follows P&G’s longstanding “promote from within” model. Moeller, who has served nearly four decades at the company, noted the timing was right for the change.
