Apple has updated its line-up of Macs with the company's new in-house silicon, the M3 chip. Available in three flavors, the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max 3nm chips promise faster performance and new features such as ray tracing.
Pricing and availability
The new 24-inch iMac with the M3 chip and a dazzling 4.5K Retina display is priced at Rs 1,34,900 in India, and is available for pre-orders, with availability starting on November 7th.
The iMac houses an M3 chip with an 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, with support for 24GB of unified RAM. As for graphics, the new chip can handle hardware ray tracing, and hardware accelerated mesh shading. It also has a 16-core neural engine for AI computations.
Besides the internals, the 24-inch iMac has a stunning 4.5K Retina display with 500 nits of peak brightness. It also has support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and comes with up to four USB Type-C ports, two Thunderbolt ports and support for Gigabit ethernet.
On the front is a 1080p Facetime camera, and six internal speakers with support for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.
Coming to the new M3 MacBook Pro's, the 14-inch variant with a M3 chip starts at Rs 1,69,900 for the base model. The variant with the M3 Pro chip will start at Rs 1,99,900. The base model of the 16-inch variant will start at Rs 2,49,900.
All three models are now available for pre-order and will be available starting October 7th. The laptops can be configured with up to M3 Max chips and 128GB of RAM. The M3 and M3 Pro models of the laptops can be configured with up to 36GB of RAM.
