XCOM by 2K may be third person shooter

Back in 2010, 2K had announced a new game in the XCOM franchise. No, not the turn based strategy game being made by Firaxis, but a first person shooter (FPS). Not much was heard about the game after the announcement. Now, according to Kotaku, there is an update on the game. The game will probably not incorporate a first person perspective but a new third person perspective, as seen in the screenshots.Shortly after the report was published, Kotaku got a statement from 2K, "We have not made any new announcements regarding the XCOM title currently in development at 2K Marin, and it is our policy not to comment on rumors or speculation".
