Worldwide external disk storage systems factory revenues posted year-over-year growth of 6.5 percent, totaling just under $6.0 billion, in the second quarter of 2012 (2Q12), according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker. For the quarter, the total disk storage systems market posted just under $8.1 billion in revenues, representing 8.0 percent growth from the prior year's second quarter.
