Yesterday it was reported that the official name of applications purchased from the Windows 8 Store was Windows 8 Store Applications. However, this name is rather long and not the brightest of names. A report by Engadget now states that the Microsoft executive was not informed of the exact terminology, and the official name of these applications is ‘Windows Store Apps’.As per a report by Engadget, the author Brian Heater states, “It happens all the time -- someone misspoke. During an address at Build yesterday, a Microsoft employee told a crowd that the company has taken to calling its apps "Windows 8 Store Applications." Turns out that's not quite right -- the proper terminology is the slightly more elegant "Windows Store apps," as per a note from a Redmond spokesperson. So there you go.
