Nokia ensured few people would buy its Windows Phone 7-powered devices when it announced that its Lumia range of smartphones running on Windows Phone 7 would not be upgraded to Windows Phone 8. Everyone assumed that after Windows Phone 8’s launch, current WP7 phones would be passé as they’d just get a complementary WP 7.8 update, not the Windows Phone 8 experience. However, Nokia seems determined to make sure its WP7 smartphone range is not ignored.Following the introduction of its first Windows 8-powered Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 smartphones at IFA 2012, Nokia has posted on its official blog stating that existing Lumia owners also have plenty to look forward to and are “definitely not being left behind". The post goes on to say that the Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 will receive a new, updated user interface, new features, apps and upgrades.
