Launching a fresh attack on Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, BJP chief Amit Shah today said the erstwhile "Sonia-Manmohan Singh" government made new records in corruption with scams like AgustaWestland taking place under its guard even as he asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will play a "long inning" at Centre.

Shah, known as the BJP's master strategist, said the saffron party was set for a "new start" in the five states going to polls.

"In their 10 years of power at the Centre, the Sonia-Manmohan government made new records in corruption. In space, we had ISRO scam (and) 2G scam, in sky the Agusta Westland scam (and) Air India plane purchase scam, on land the Adarsh Society scam (and) Commonwealth games scam, in ocean a submarine scam, and in underground the coal mine scam," Shah quipped.

He said the common people offered the saffron party the mandate to rule as they were "fed up" with the widespread corruption.
