The All-India Congress Committee's meeting in New Delhi saw an ever so aggressive Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi taking on the Opposition and urging fellow party members to get ready for the Lok Sabha elections.

The highlight of the speech was Rahul’s appeal to the Prime Minister to raise the bar of LPG usage from 9 cylinders to 12 cylinders, which was met with a lot of cheer from the gathering. More importantly, the request received instant approval from the government. Sources say Cabinet to meet next week to sign off on hiking LPG cap.

The Gandhi scion began his speech by appreciating the work done by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyar and Sam Pitroda for their work. However, Rahul seemed to be quite influenced by the meteoric rise Aam Aadmi Party in embracing democracy within the party.

He took a dig at BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, saying that the country cannot be run by one man. "Democracy cannot be ruled by dictatorship, it cannot be ruled by one man. It has to be run by elected representatives," Rahul said. "We don't respond by turning against one another, nor by lighting communal fire," he added.
