PM to attend Rajya Sabha as centre scrambles to end logjam

The logjam has kept Parliament from transacting any meaningful business since the Winter Session started a week ago.

As Parliament remains paralysed over the demonetisation issue, the Centre will make its first attempt at reaching out to the Opposition on Thursday when Home Minister Rajnath Singh meets floor leaders of all parties at 10am.

The meeting comes a day after the Congress and Left parties called for November 28 to be observed as Akrosh Divas with nationwide protests, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Hitler. The Aam Aadmi Party, JD-U, Samajwadi Party and the NCP, joined the Mamata-led protest at Jantar Mantar.
