In the Cabinet rejig scheduled for Tuesday, Prime Mnister Narendra Modi is expected to induce almost 19 ministers, primarily focusing on faces from Uttar Pradesh. This expansion-cum-reshuffle is more of an intent to make political concessions in the upcoming elections, said Anil Padmanabhan, Deputy Managing Editor at Mint. Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Padmanabhan said it is a move to share the fruits of power as the Cabinet left out a lot of ministers last year. Calling this an accommodative stance, he said the move is going to be a 'serious three-way fight', where normally BJP wins as the opposition votes get divided. Furthermore, he believes UP is going to be a tough fight for the party where Bahujan Samaj Party's Mayawati can be a front-runner.Meanwhile, Anurpiya Patel, Vijay Goel and MJ Akbar are some of the names he discussed on the show. For entire interview, watch accompanying video.
