Triggered by the opening of Yellow Line (RV Road - Bommasandra), Bengaluru Metro recorded a record 10 lakh boardings on Monday, according to figures released by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL).
Records show Bengaluru Metro recorded a total of 10,48,031 boardings for the day. Purple Line (Whitefield - Challaghatta) accounted for 4,51,816 passengers, while Green Line (Madavara- Silk Institute) saw 2,91,677 passengers.

The Yellow Line - inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 10 and commencing commercial operations on Monday, August 11 - carried 52,215 passengers.
The 19-km corridor, which now operates with only three trains at a 25-minute frequency, connects the city’s tech hub Electronics City.
A total of 2,52,323 passengers used the Majestic and RV Road interchange stations.
Of the total ridership, 48 percent used smart cards (5,03,837), followed by 28.9 percent tokens (3,03,165), 19.9 percent QR codes (2,08,382), 3.1 percent NCMC cards (32,198), and 0.04 percent group tickets (450).
The previous highest-ever daily ridership was recorded on June 4, with 9.6 lakh boardings amid massive crowds drawn by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) victory celebrations.
