The Armed Forces Medical Services on Friday showcased an all-women contingent for the first time in the Republic Day parade.

More than 200 women personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the world's largest paramilitary force, participated in the 75th Republic Day parade by marching down the Kartavya Path on January 26. The CRPF holds the distinction of raising one of the first women band contingents.

Constable Sosa Alpaben led the CRPF band, comprising 100 women personnel, as they played 'Desh Ke Hum Hai Rakshak.' This participation underscores the significant role of women in the paramilitary force and celebrates their contributions to the nation's security.

The women contingent of the CRPF, led by Assistant Commandant Megha Nair of the 234th Battalion based in Visakhapatnam, showcased the significant role of women in the paramilitary force. The CRPF holds the distinction of raising the first-ever women armed police battalion in the country.
