Police recovers 50 kg more explosives from Faridabad a day after Delhi blast

A day after a high-intensity blast ripped through a moving car near Delhi's Red Fort, the police reportedly recovered about 50-60 kilogram of explosive materials in Haryana's Faridabad. Until now, the blast, that occurred around 6.50 pm on Monday in the crowded area adjacent on  Chandni Chowk has claimed at least 12 lives and injured several more.

The government on Tuesday decided to hand over the probe into Delhi blast case to the National Investigation Agency. Additionally, the police also arrested two persons in connection with the blast. The arrests and recoveries were made a day after the police recovered 2,900 kg of explosives and inflammable material from two rented rooms of a Kashmiri doctor, Muzammil Shakeel, in Faridabad.

Shakeel and another Kashmiri doctor, Adeel Ahmad Rather, were among eight people who were arrested for allegedly being part of a "white-collar terror" module involving the Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind and spanning Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting in the wake of the blast. Mr. Shah had earlier said that “all possibilities are being explored and a thorough investigation will be conducted, taking all options into account.”
