Bengaluru Metro tragedy: Man jumps before train at Doddakallasandra station, dies

Metro services between Yelachenahalli and Silk Institute stations on the Green Line (Silk Institute - Nagasandra) were disrupted for more than three hours on August 3. Many passengers were stranded at stations and on trains due to the service disruption following the incident. This also forced some passengers to walk along the narrow pathway beside the elevated track to reach Doddakallasandra station.

A 57-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving Metro train at Doddakallasandra station in South Bengaluru at around 5:45pm on August 3.

Metro services between Yelachenahalli and Silk Institute stations on the Green Line (Silk Institute - Nagasandra) were disrupted for more than three hours following the incident.

Sources said the deceased has been identified as Naveen Kumar Arora. However, the reason for the suicide is not known.

Police sources said Arora, a resident of Kumaraswamy Layout, is survived by his wife and daughter. However, the police said that he had been living separately from his wife.
