Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday heaped praises on Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and said that he learned a lot from the TDP chief when he was serving as the chief minister of Gujarat.
The Prime Minister was speaking at an event where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth Rs 58,000 crore, which also included relaunching the construction of the greenfield capital city of Amaravati.
"Chandrababu ji was praising me over technology. But let me tell you a secret. When I was newly elected CM of Gujarat, I was very closely monitoring what initiatives Chandrababu Naidu was taking in Hyderabad. I learned a lot, and today, I got the opportunity to implement them," he said.
The Prime Minister added that Chandrababu Naidu can always deliver the best possible results when it comes to future technology, getting work done on a large scale and fast-tracking its execution.
During the event, PM Modi said that a new chapter of connectivity is being written in Andhra Pradesh with the launch of these projects.
"These projects will increase connectivity from one district to another. Connectivity with nearby states will improve. It will become easier for farmers to take their crops to bigger markets and will be convenient for industries too. The tourism sector and pilgrimage will also get a boost," he said.
The Prime Minister added: "Together, we must make Amaravati and Andhra Pradesh the growth engine of a Viksit Bharat. We have to fulfill NTR Garu’s dream. Chandrababu Garu, brother Pawan Kalyan, and friend Ram are with us."
The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for 94 projects, which included capital city institutions, national highways, railway upgrades and defence-related installations.
NDA allies, Andhra chief minister Naidu and Jana Sena's Pawan Kalyan, were present at the gathering.
