Air India to launch new performance mgmt system for non-flying staff

Air India will launch a new performance management system for its non-flying staff next week. Air India, which was taken over by Tata Group in January last year, has embarked on an ambitious revival plan."Rise.AI will introduce a fair, transparent and completelydigitisedappraisal system, with clearly defined job descriptions and specific performance goals so that all our staff know what is expected of them and what they must deliver on," Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson said in his weekly message to staff on Friday. Earlier this year, Air India placed orders for 470 planes with Airbus and Boeing.

AIIMS reporting 100 cases of acute conjunctivitis every day in Delhi: Doctors

Hospitals in Delhi are witnessing a surge in cases of eye infection or acute conjunctivitis, with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences reporting approximately 100 cases per day, doctors at the premier hospital said. Terming the rising eye infection cases an epidemic, Dr J S Titiyal, chief of RP Centre, AIIMS, said the number of such cases are expected to hit the peak within the next few days after which the numbers may come down.He said an acute epidemic of conjunctivitis cases is usually observed in the monsoon season which coincides with the flu season. "But this year, there seems to be a heavier outbreak of cases, which may be attributed to heavy, incessant rains and flooding," the doctor said.

Legal News Live Updates: 4 advocates, 2 judicial officers appointed high court judges

Four advocates and two judicial officers were on Friday elevated as judges of two high courts. Separately, 15 additional judges of five high courts -- Bombay, Calcutta, Gauhati, Kerala, and Chhattisgarh -- were elevated as judges or 'permanent judges', the law ministry said.
