Karnataka to hire consultant for masterplan of KWIN City, Bengaluru’s twin

Setting the ball rolling for the state government’s ambitious Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation (KWIN) City project, the Karnataka government has decided to rope in a private consultant.

The private firm will create a detailed masterplan for KWIN City, planned to cover around 5,800 acres. It will also prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the first phase, which will cover around 2,000 acres in Doddaballapura and Nelamangala taluks in Bengaluru rural district.

Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) recently floated a tender for the selection of a consultant. The firm will have a team leader with 20 years of experience, a senior urban planner, a structural engineer (specialising in roads and bridges), and experts in transportation, water supply, and wastewater management.
