In a major boost to industrial growth, the Karnataka government approved investment proposals worth Rs 17,183 crore on May 28 through two high-level committee meetings. These investments are expected to generate around 12,500 jobs across the state.
The 65th State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC), chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, cleared proposals worth Rs 15,441 crore at its meeting held at Vidhana Soudha. These approved proposals are expected to create employment opportunities for 5,277 people.
Separately, the State-Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC), chaired by Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development MB Patil, had cleared Rs 1,741.6 crore worth of proposals on May 28. These are expected to generate around 7,219 jobs across the state.
SLSWCC approval
SLSWCC approval includes four new investment proposals totalling Rs 13,921 crore. Among the major projects, Emmvee Energy Pvt Ltd plans to invest Rs 5,495 crore and create 2,508 jobs; Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd received approval for two projects worth Rs 3,000 crore and Rs 3,020 crore in Belagavi and Kalaburagi districts, generating 1,140 jobs; and Shree Cement Ltd will invest Rs 2,406 crore, creating 300 jobs.
Two additional and amendment proposals worth Rs 1,520.17 crore were also cleared. Bosch Automotive Electronics India Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 1,330 crore to generate 958 jobs, while Colortone Textiles Pvt Ltd plans to invest Rs 190 crore, creating 371 jobs.
The committee also granted time extensions and approved additional land allotments for 10 amendment proposals currently under implementation. These projects span various sectors, including pumped storage, steel, sugar, cement, integrated townships, and film manufacturing, and involve companies such as JSW Neo Energy, Exide Industries, Vanya Steels, Khayati Pipes and Power, UltraTech Cement, and Uflex, the release said.
SLSWCC clears 63 investment proposals
SLSWCC cleared a total of 63 investment proposals. Among the notable projects approved was Provit Foods Pvt Ltd’s Rs 125.88 crore feed plant in Dakshina Kannada district, which is expected to create 308 jobs; VK Building Services Pvt Ltd’s Rs 97.5 crore prefabricated modular products unit in Bengaluru Rural district, expected to employ 200 people; TTP Technologies Pvt Ltd’s Rs 91.2 crore transformer radiator facility in Tumakuru district, which will generate 900 jobs; and HYCOM Engineering (India) Pvt Ltd’s Rs 76 crore rotary joints manufacturing facility in Kolar.
"The cleared projects are distributed across multiple districts, including Dakshina Kannada, Tumakuru, Kolar, Vijapura, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Belagavi, Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi, and Bengaluru Rural" said Patil. The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening Karnataka’s industrial ecosystem and supporting inclusive, sustainable development.
