India gets advice on minorities; we now see what happens in other countries: Mohan Bhagwat

"Big announcements are being made about world peace. We (India) are also being advised about world peace, but at the same time wars are not ending. While we are often told to worry about the minorities in our country, we are witnessing what kind of situation minorities are facing outside," he said.

India is often told to look into issues of its minorities but we are not seeing what minority communities are facing in other countries, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday.

"Big announcements are being made about world peace. We (India) are also being advised about world peace, but at the same time wars are not ending. While we are often told to worry about the minorities in our country, we are witnessing what kind of situation minorities are facing outside," he said. Bhagwat was speaking at the inauguration of 'Hindu Seva Mahotsav'.

The RSS chief, however, made no reference to violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. He also said that an attempt is being made to establish hegemony by talking about world peace.

In the recent weeks, RSS has expressed concern about the situation of Hindus in the neighbouring nation after the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina government.
