Govt extends tenure of SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara till August 2024

Dinesh Khara was appointed as SBI's chairman on October 7, 2020, for three years. As per norms, the SBI chairman can hold the position till the age of 63.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has extended the tenure of the State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman Dinesh Khara for a period beyond October 2023 till he attains 63 years of age.

The ACC has also extended the tenure of SBI MD Ashwini Tewari for a period of two years.

Moneycontrol had earlier reported citing government sources that the tenure of the SBI Chairman has been extended till August 28, 2024 and that the extension has been approved by the PMO.
